Steam turbine power plants require a large amount of tubing, the grade of steel used to produce the tubes is determined by the location within the power plant. Ranging from 9% CrMoV such as T91 for temperatures up to 600°C, through to austenitic stainless steels for superheaters operating at 700°C. Key requirements of these steels are:
