 Corus can supply an innovative range of foundation solutions. We provide a full service approach to foundations, offering a full design-supply-install service. Corus foundation solutions are based on Corus Bi-Steel products. Bi-Steel is an immensely strong construction system. Structures are made from Bi-Steel panels which consist of pairs of steel plates connected by friction welded transverse bars to form a sandwich. These panels are prefabricated into sub-assemblies which reduces construction time on-site. Fabricated modules can be filled with concrete or other materials to further increase their strength. However, unfilled modules are relatively light, so they can easily be transported and erected prior filling. For example, the target installation time for Bi-Steel wind turbine foundations is 24 hours. Bi-Steel is able to absorb the high loads exerted on wave energy structures. In addition, the structures can be curved to distribute the concentrated forces due to wave slam which significantly enhances fatigue life.
